Samsung today announced they have successfully developed a UFS 4.0 storage solution - thus ushering in the next era after UFS 3.1 which is widely used on smartphones today.
UFS 4.0 offers enhanced performance, and at the same time more energy efficient. UFS 4.0 also offers speeds of up to 23.2Gbps - double what is offered on UFS 3.1 today.
This speed is seen to be ideal for today’s 5G phones that allow for high -level data processing. In addition, UFS 4.0 is also expected to help in the AR and VR arena that is evolving day by day.
UFS 4.0 is also seen to come with options up to 1TB, at a read rate of 4200MB/s as well as a write rate of 2800MB/s.
Samsung is expected to produce UFS 4.0 -based storage for use on the device later this year. Let's wait and see which phone will be the first to use this UFS 4.0 storage.
