Samsung has now announced they will invest a total of 450 trillion won, or around RM1.57 trillion over the next 5 years - and focus on a number of areas, including semiconductors, biotechnology and even artificial intelligence. A large amount, about 80% of the investment will be made in South Korea.
Samsung is one of the leaders in the chip processing arena today, and with a focus on the production of 3nm chips, etc., they will be investing in this arena. What’s more, with the development of technology that now requires more processing chips day by day-covering on wearable devices, connected devices, telephones, automotive and so on.
In addition, processing chips are also needed in network development, including future 6G networks.
Samsung will also invest some money in the biotechnology and healthcare arena. In addition, the arena of artificial intelligence is also not left behind and will continue to be ventured by Samsung.
These investments are also expected to create around 1 million jobs over the next few years.
