Sony Prepares PS VR2 with 20 Hero Games

Sony promises that there will be 20 game titles available when they release the PlayStation VR2.

This is what Sony promised when it met with its investors. Sony did not mention game titles or developers, but from the presentation slides, the game titles in question will come from first and third party developers.

One of the best game titles for VR2 will most likely come from the Horizon game series, namely Horizon Call of the Mountain, as quoted by us from The Verge, Saturday (28/5/2022).

"There will be significant amounts of money spent working with independent developers and third parties to secure attractive VR content at the launch of PlayStation VR2," said Jim Ryan, president of Sony Interactive Entertainment.

But unfortunately, until now there is no certainty about the launch of the virtual reality headset. Sony itself has for some time been revealing some information about the headset several times.

Confirmation of the presence of VR2 was first announced in February 2021, and a few months later Sony revealed the controller design for the headset.

However, the official name of the headset was only announced in 2022, along with the specifications and design. Many predict the release of the new VR2 will occur in 2023.

Oh yes, the 20 game titles promised by Sony are not certain whether they will consist of all new games. Or there could be an existing game like Half Life: Alyx, which is a 2020 PC VR game that has not yet been released on Sony's console.

Sony first released a VR headset (named PlayStation VR) in 2016. Unlike older models designed for the PS4, the VR2 is positioned more as a PS5 partner. This headset will be equipped with two OLED displays with a resolution of 2000x2040 each, with a refresh rate of 120Hz and connected via a USB-C cable.
