Sony confirmed that they are working on a film series for the PlayStation exclusive game, Horizon Zero Dawn. Fans can enjoy Aloy's journey through Netflix.
Apart from that, the video game giant has also teamed up with Amazon Prime, to create a TV show based on the adventures of Kratos. Where many rumors circulated, the film will be inspired by the new God of War series and made into a live action.
Sony is also currently in the process of developing another film, based on the racing game series, Gran Turismo. But so far, they still haven't disclosed who the distributors are, quoted us from The Verge, Saturday (28/5/2022).
Both Horizon Zero Dawn and Gran Turismo are still in early development. So it is not certain when it will be released, so that later it can be enjoyed by fans of PlayStation console games.
Please note, that PlayStation Productions itself, has several other projects in the works. According to Tony Vinciquerra, CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment, there are at least 10, some of them Twisted Metal, The Last of Us, Ghost of Tsushima and Metal Gear Solid as well as the three titles above.
This shows Sony's seriousness, to expand its game portfolio beyond the home platform. They confirmed that they wanted to take advantage of it, not just playing the game.
This is evident from the efforts made, through filmmaking, retail products and TV series production. Including the acquisition of Bungie, enabling Sony to be more multiplatform.
For Horizon Zero Dawn itself, it already has a sequel titled Horizon Forbidden West which was released last February. Then the latest series of Kratos adventures, namely God of War Ragnarok, reportedly visited gamers this year.
Whereas previously, Sony had successfully released their exclusive title, namely Uncharted. A film starring Hollywood's golden boy, Tom Holland.
