The Bombardier Global 8000 is the World's Fastest Supersonic -Speed Private Jet

Business private jets were first offered in the 60s to cater to professionals who wanted to fly fast to destinations. Learjet dominated this market before being challenged by companies such as Gulfstream, Cessna and Bombardier. This week the Bombardier Global 8000 was launched which according to the manufacturer is the fastest private jet in the world.

In the tests that have been done, the Global 8000 reached a speed of Mach 1.015 which is equivalent to 1253 km/h. This is above the supersonic minimum limit of 1,060km/h. With a full tank, it can fly continuously for 8000 nautical miles (14816 km). The plane can fly to London tapa stop and still have an extra 4000 kilometers left. A pair of GE Passport engines are used to supply the thrust.

The cabin has enough space to accommodate 19 passengers at a time. But in a more luxurious configuration it can house a sleeping area as well as a living room for relaxation. Passengers can also enjoy Internet connection using the Ka line.

For pilots, there is the latest navigation assistance system including a HUD display in the cabin and fly-by-wire control. The Bombardier Global 8000 aircraft will start operations by 2025 with bookings already open.
