TikTok announced a new service that allows creators and viewers to connect in real time. The program is called Live Subscriptions, a subscription concept similar to Twitch.
With this program, creators can earn while doing live broadcasts or TikTok Live. Because users who are willing to pay a subscription fee to get special content and features.
Subscribed users will be given exclusive access such as subscriber-only chats, creator-only emoticons, and signs that distinguish them from non-subscribers.
Creators can also switch to an exclusive chat mode for subscribers. The goal is to promote a more personal connection between creators and fans.
The presence of this feature is also TikTok's effort to offer more ways for content creators to make money on the platform and grow their audience.
Launching from 9to5mac, Friday (27/5/2022), this subscription feature is only available for creators who get an invite at this time. But TikTok says this feature will expand globally in the coming months.
To access the LIVE Subscription feature, creators must be at least 18 years old with a minimum of 1000 followers.
Unfortunately TikTok doesn't go into detail when this feature will be available to all creators on TikTok and what it's like to meet their standards. Also, TikTok didn't say how much they would take from the program.
