Win Best Workplace, This is Tokopedia's Secret Interested in Job Seekers

 


Tokopedia recently received the Top 10 Best Workplace (Top of Mind) award at the 2022 Indonesian Employer of Choice Award from SWA Magazine & Korn Ferry. This achievement is considered to be proof that Tokopedia is one of the most sought after companies for job seekers in Indonesia.

Based on the Job Seeker survey conducted by Korn Ferry in 2021-2022, Tokopedia was chosen as one of the dream companies for job seekers in Indonesia. Besides Tokopedia, other companies that also won the Top 10 Best Workplaces include Bank BCA, Pertamina, Unilever, Telkom Indonesia and Bank Mandiri.


Regarding this achievement, Tokopedia's VP of People and Office Management Nanang Chalid said that Tokopedia applies employer branding which is not only about attracting the best talents to support business development. But also how to inspire Nakama (Tokopedia employees) and Nakama candidates to always contribute positively to Indonesia through technology.



"A sustainable employer branding strategy is very important in order to build a strong and superior company image in the eyes of the nakama (Tokopedia employees) and Nakama candidates, the majority of whom are the younger generation," he said in a written statement, Wednesday (25/5/2022).


Tokopedia's external programs include the Product Acceleration Program, Tokopedia Goes to Campus, DevCamp and Data Challenge. Tokopedia's employer branding program is realized by utilizing various digital channels as a means of communication. Its flagship programs are divided into two categories, namely internal and external.


"Together with the Technology Leadership Team, we also support Tokopedia Academy as a platform that is expected to produce more Indonesian digital talents," said Nanang.


Not only through digital platforms, Nakama's active role also contributes to realizing these employer branding programs. Nakama participates both as an individual and through an internal community.



Currently, Tokopedia already has more than 6,000 Nakama who 100% work from home (work from home).


"We have implemented this policy since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, to support the health and safety of each of our Nakama," concluded Nanang.


The 2021-2022 Job Seeker Survey held by Korn Ferry involved 4,800 respondents consisting of students (82%) and employees with 2 years of experience (18%) from a number of locations, including Greater Jakarta (33% of respondents), Bandung (24%) , Central Java-Yogyakarta (21%), East Java (22%).


The respondents' considerations in choosing a place to work were based on a number of reasons, such as company image (60%), salary (37%), career (37%), specialization (36%), benefits (28%), others (25%), Work place/atmosphere (10%), and facilities (8%)
