After Google gave Samsung exclusivity for Wear OS 3.0, they started providing some more or less the same features and functionality for Wear OS 2.x users. This feature is the ability to download YouTube Music and Spotify music for offline use.
The disadvantage of this feature is, users need to download first before enjoying the music. Play live i.e. streaming is not allowed. This poses a problem when wanting to listen to music without carrying a phone, as the clock’s internal storage is not that large.
Recently, Google has updated YouTube Music to support live streaming. This means that if the Wear OS watch has SIM card support, only use mobile data to play music. Those with access to WiFi can also use this connection to stream music.
This update will be distributed this week for all eligible hours.
