Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a mental disorder that makes it difficult for people to focus. But on TikTok, there is a lot of misleading content on this issue.

This is explained by Dr Jonathan N Stea a clinical psychologist through his tweet on Twitter. He also brought evidence in the form of a published journal.

"Mental health misinformation is rampant on social media. In this study, more than half of the popular ADHD videos on TikTok were misleading—and surprisingly, there were over 2.8 million views per video and each video was shared an average of 31,000 times." he wrote.

According to research published in SAGE Journals , of the 100 videos that met the rating criteria, 52% were categorized as misleading, 27% considered personal experiences and only 21% found helpful or useful.

"About half of analyzed TikTok videos about ADHD are misleading. Physicians should be aware of the widespread spread of health misinformation on social media platforms and their potential impact on clinical care," their study concluded.
