Apple Watch Series 8 May Be Used As Normal In Low Power Mode

Yesterday we reported on Apple that may be coming up with a new Mac Mini powered by an Apple M2 or M2 Pro chip, a MacBook with an M2 Max chip as well as a Mac Pro computer with an Apple M2 Extreme.

In addition, Apple TV is also reported to come with the Apple A14 Bionic chip, 4GB RAM compared to 3GB RAM, and HomePod is expected to come with a new model generated by the Apple S8 chip. The Apple S8 chip will also be used on the Apple Watch Series 8.

What is disappointing is, this Apple S8 chip is also reported to have the same specifications as the Apple S7 chip used on the Apple Watch Series 6 and Series 7. It is a dual-core 64-bit chip, has the Apple W3 chip and Apple U1 built-in. .

The Apple Watch Series 8, which is also expected to launch this year, will run watchOS 9. In watchOS 9 beta, not many drastic changes have taken place other than a new watch face, some medical features, and fitness/health monitoring.

Gurman also predicted that Apple will announce new features on the Apple Watch Series 8 with watchOS 9 not appearing in beta. This feature is a low power mode or a new battery saving mode. To this day, this mode is called Power Reserve Mode which only displays the clock and cannot use any Apple Watch applications and functions.

The new low power mode of the Apple Watch is said to allow users to use the Apple Watch Series 8 as usual. Only applications will not run in the background, performance will be reduced to save battery, and applications can also be opened. It’s like an iPhone with low power mode, where the battery icon turns yellow.

Not sure if this feature will be exclusive to the Apple Watch Series 8 or not. Because the Apple S8 chip is just the same as their older generation two clocks. Anyway, let's wait for more information on this feature.
