Child Left Behind Prevention System Using NASA Technology Developed By Toyota

We are now in the summer that makes the face look like it wants to be crushed and the armpits become a pool if the air conditioner is not turned on. The risk of death because a child is left in the car also increases in this situation. In Malaysia, this tragedy is repeated year after year because there is still no system built to prevent it from being commercialized.

Toyota has demonstrated the concept of a system that tracks the presence of all vehicle passengers in detail with the help of technology developed by NASA. The Cabin Awareness system uses microwave radar technology developed by NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory to locate earthquake victims trapped in Nepal.

Radar placed on the roof of a vehicle’s cabin can detect objects in four dimensions and detect small movements such as a passenger who is breathing. With this it is possible to distinguish objects placed on chairs with sleeping humans or pets.

When the driver is detected getting out of the vehicle with the passenger still behind, a warning will be given to the smartphone automatically to prevent a tragedy from happening. Cabin Awareness is still just a concept but it will be tested on a Toyota Sienna.
