CyberSecurity Malaysia is now warning the public not to conduct any transactions over public WiFi connections. This includes using a digital wallet or any other digital payment.
When using public WiFi, the threat of attack is open, and not very secure - thus making personal data and a number of other data likely to be accessible to hackers.
In addition, there is a possibility that the attacker himself is impersonating the WiFi network.
CyberSecurity Malaysia also advises that if possible avoid or be careful when using public WiFi. It may also be possible to use a secure network connection that has a password.
