Cydia's Lawsuit Against App Store Continues After Apple's Appeal Rejected

In December 2020, Cydia filed a lawsuit against Apple for claiming the App Store monopolized the iOS app market. Apple has filed an appeal to the court to dismiss the suit for allegedly having exceeded the statute of limitations. But a judge in the United States denied Apple's appeal and ordered the case to be tried.

Cydia is a popular app store for iOS devices that has undergone a jailbroken process a few years ago to add features not officially offered by Apple. It ceased operations in 2018 because various barriers imposed by Apple for security reasons at the same time no longer benefited its developer Jay Freeman.

With the case continuing, Apple faces another lawsuit involving App Store monopoly allegations after being dragged down by Epic Games over a year ago. Tim Cook insists that allowing sideload on iOS would pose security and privacy risks to users. Which side are you on?
