StoreHub is one of the POS systems used in various stores and restaurants in Malaysia. It offers in -store payment management facilities, including customer management.
In any case, it is quite surprising when it is now reported by SafetyDetectives, saying data of over 1 million Malaysian customers is leaked through the StoreHub system.
It is said the data is leaked through StoreHub servers that are not protected by passwords or encryption. The leaked data involves data from thousands of restaurants and stores, along with data from their employees, and nearly 1 million customer data.
Leaked data includes full name, phone number, address, device used, including transaction and purchase data. This leak is said to have been identified on 12 January 2022, and has also been reported to MyCERT.
Touching on it, StoreHub says no data leaks have occurred, but they have overhauled the servers and covered up vulnerabilities that keep their servers from shutting down.
