Take a look at the applications on your phone, are you sure that all of these applications are safe? Because, it turns out that there are a number of applications that secretly infiltrate mobile phones and without realizing it can endanger personal data, especially banking.
Six of them are the applications below which turned out to be malicious applications. It is therefore recommended to immediately delete the applications which will be mentioned below, as quoted from Forbes, Tuesday (31/5/2022).
Bleeping Computer reported last March, the NCC Group, which is a security observer, first revealed that an application that was supposed to be an antivirus turned out to be a SharkBot trojan spreader. The list is as follows:
1. Antivirus, Super Cleaner
2. Atom Clean-Booster, Antivirus,
3. Alpha Antivirus, Cleaner
4. Powerful Cleaner, Antivirus
5. Two other applications with the same name namely Center Security - Antivirus.
After detailed reporting to Google, finally all these apps were removed from the Play Store on March 3rd-March 27th. However, if you have already installed this application and this application is still on your cellphone, it is recommended to immediately delete the application to avoid unwanted things.
"This malware steals banking credentials and information. This is clearly very dangerous. Looking at the number of installs, we can assume that the threat actors are on target because of their malware distribution methods. Threat actors strategically choose the location of applications on Google Play that users trust," said Alexander Chailytko, cybersecurity, research and innovation manager at Check Point Software.
In addition to deleting the application, it is recommended to immediately change the banking password that you use on your cellphone. There's nothing wrong with doing it as a precaution.
