While Meta is looking to TikTok for a new era, Elon Musk is now saying Twitter needs to be more like WeChat to be successful.
WeChat is a popular messaging app in China, and is used for more than just communicating - including for payments and so on. Roughly speaking, it is arguably quite difficult to live in China without the WeChat app.
Elon Musk says there is no offering like WeChat outside of China, and Twitter can do just that.
Twitter today is ready to offer social and messaging services, in addition to expanding its offerings to include payments, and several new features.
At the same time, Elon Musk aims to see Twitter used by around 1 billion active users in about 10 years.
