Google today issued a reminder to all users, to download data from Google Hangouts before November 2022. The service will no longer be offered after that, and will be replaced with Google Chat.
Users who are still using Google Hangouts will start seeing notifications and reminders to switch to Google Chat.
For Hangouts users on GMail, you’ll start seeing notifications starting in July 2022.
Features from Hangouts are expected to be offered on Google Chat, including several other features including direct calling, as well as several other features.
