One of the steps that WhatsApp users can take to protect their privacy is to hide the 'Last seen' status. The good news, WhatsApp has just released a feature that allows users to hide 'Last seen' from certain people.
This is part of the new privacy settings launched by WhatsApp. This feature has actually been rolled out for beta testers since last year, but is now available to all users.
In addition to 'Last seen', WhatsApp users can now also hide their profile photo, 'About', and WhatsApp Status from unwanted people. With this new feature, users can set their privacy more specifically.
Previously, WhatsApp users were only given three options to show the information, namely to everyone, to people in contacts, or to hide it completely. Now there is a fourth option namely 'My contacts except...' which can be selected in the privacy settings.
With this option, WhatsApp users can choose which people in their contacts should not see photos, About, Last seen, and WhatsApp Status installed. Here is the guide.
Easy way to hide Last Seen WhatsApp from certain people:
Open the WhatsApp app on your Android or iOS phone. Make sure the WhatsApp you are using is the latest version
Tap the menu with the three-dot icon in the upper right corner, then select Settings
After entering the Settings page, select the Account option
After that select the Privacy menu
On the Privacy page you will be shown four options, namely Last seen, profile photo, About, and WhatsApp Status
Select the Last seen option, then select the My contacts except...
Select the contact you want to 'block' so you can no longer see your Last seen
Repeat the steps above if you want to hide your profile photo, About, and WhatsApp Status from certain people.
