Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 Now Official, Powered by Intel Core i5 Gen 11 And Convertible SSD

Microsoft Surface Laptop Go is an affordable Surface computer that was launched in 2020. It has basic specifications with a design like a premium Surface device. Now after two years, Microsoft has launched the Surface Laptop Go 2 as a replacement.

The screen used remains the same, which is 12.4-inch PixelSense with a display ratio of 3: 2 and a resolution of 1536 x 1024. Interestingly, the processing chip used this time is more powerful, namely Intel Core i5-1135G7 with Intel Iris Xe GPU matched with 4GB or 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM memory as well as 128GB or 256GB convertible SSD internal storage. A 16GB option is also offered but only for enterprise users.

The good news is, there are no more slow 64GB eMMC storage options. Fingerprint scanner support is also retained, but on more premium models and none on the base model. For the camera, it still uses a 720p HD f/2.0 camera. As for audio, Omnisonic speakers with Dolby Audio Premium are included and have studio-level dual-microphones.

The battery is said to last up to 13.5 hours with USB-C or Surface Connect charging. USB-A connection and 3.5mm audio jack port are also included. WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 support is also available on this laptop for the convenience of users.

The design of the Surface Laptop Go 2 is still more or less the same, with premium Surface elements. The construction is Aluminum. The new color offered this time is Sage with other color options such as Platinum, Sandstone or Ice Blue.

The sale price starts at $ 599 (~ RM2625) and for now there is still no announcement whether it will be sold in Malaysia or not.
