A mysterious creature caught on surveillance camera outside a zoo in Texas, United States (US). The photos of this strange figure walking on two legs went viral online and scared netizens.
Through the Twitter account @CityofAmarillo, the authorities informed that the image was captured by a camera installed at the Amarillo Zoo in the early hours of May 21 at around 1:25 am local time.
"Is this the strange hat man walking at night? Chupacabra? Do you know, this unknown object," they wrote.
In the picture that was widely shared and commented on by netizens, a suspicious figure appeared in the dark outside the zoo fence. The tall creature stood on its two legs while its ears were pointed.
Since the creature cannot be identified, it is marked as an Unidentified Amarillo Object (UAO) by the City of Amarillo.
Quoted from News18, the official account of the City of Amarillo writes on its website that local residents may have a better explanation of the mysterious creature and welcome those who know it to provide an explanation.
City of Amarillo Parks and Recreation director Michael Kashuba said residents should not be afraid of the incident. He stressed that the creature was spotted outside the zoo and they found no sign of him attempting to enter the zoo.
"No animals were injured at the zoo and no signs of vandalism or criminal activity were found at the premises," he added.
As soon as the photo went viral on various social media, users flocked to comment on their version of the theory.
"Looks like an owl perched on something," wrote one user. Other users hope the creature isn't an alien hiding in the dark. "It looks like someone wearing a lion's shirt," another netizen commented.
