Razer today launched a new set of headphones in the Barracuda series for 2022. It has three models namely Barracuda Pro, Barracuda and Barracuda X. These three sets of headphones are definitely video game focused and load many interesting features with appropriate design to be used anywhere even when not actively playing.
Barracuda Pro
The Razer Barracuda Pro is the top model with the most premium features and functions. It is a 100% wireless headphone set with Razer SmartSwitch Dual Wireless feature for use on two devices without any problems. The headphone set also offers a hybrid active noise cancellation feature with a built-in dual-microphone and uses a 50mm Razer TriForce Bio-Cellulose audio drive.
For audio quality, it is tuned by THX with the THX Achromatic Audio Amplifier system and also supports THX spatial audio feature. The ear cups used are a type of memory cushion with a soft leather -like finish. The battery is promised to last up to 40 hours with USB-C charging.
The Razer Barracuda Pro is priced at RM1,399.
Barracuda
The Razer Barracuda is a mid -range model with more or less the same features and functions. It still supports the Razer SmartSwitch, but instead of being fully wireless and supports 3.5mm analog connectivity. The audio drive used is a Razer TriForce Titanium 50mm and not Bio-Cellulose. Although it has a built-in dual-microphone, it is only for noise cancellation when speaking and does not support active noise cancellation like the Pro model.
No THX AAA support, but still supports THX spatial audio. For the ear cups it uses a FlowKnit memory cushion, the battery is still the same which reaches 40 hours and also uses USB-C charging.
The selling price for this model is RM899.
Barracuda X
The Razer Barracuda X is a starter model and among the cheapest in the Barracuda series. It has the same features as a regular Barracuda model with the same SmartSwitch features, but the audio drive is a Razer TriForce 40mm and does not use titanium type. Interestingly, it also supports Surround Sound 7.1 with a removable Razer HyperClear microphone.
The FlowKnit memory cushion remains in use, the 3.5mm extension also remains and it is also designed to have a lighter mass. The battery lasts up to 50 hours with USB-C charging as well.
The selling price is RM549.
