High salary is certainly a dream for people. However, if the job is too relaxed, it tends to be lazy, aka eating blind salaries.
It was felt by an employee at a company based in Singapore. The experience was shared on the Facebook page to invite the pros and cons of netizens.
As quoted from Mashable, Tuesday (31/5/2022) this man named Kenji Ong lamented his work. He confided in other Facebook users that he was planning to resign because of the job.
Kenji shared that he was frustrated at work after being comfortable working from home. By working from home, he can do other activities.
"When I work from home, I can get the work done in 2-3 hours, and then I mostly do my own things and it becomes easy to spend time at home," she says.
However, when COVID-19 was deemed to have subsided, the Singaporean Government began to loosen regulations, in which companies began to ask their employees to return to work in the office full time.
According to Kenji, working in the office will feel heavy and full of burdens. With the work completed in a flash of time, he had to spend the rest of the time pretending to work. That's because the leader is sitting right behind him. Kenji had to act as if he was typing in Microsoft Excel until he left his office at 5:30 p.m. local time.
Apparently not only Kenji, his partner also experienced the same experience. At the office, they repeatedly look at email, daydream, or spend more time in the bathroom.
Kenji mentioned that overall his job was relatively comfortable, but since returning to the office something has been 'missing' and made him easily tired and lethargic with his work.
"Pretending to be busy when there's nothing else to do is unbearable. Sometimes, I really want to scream 'Aaah! I'm so bored!" he said.
Kenji said he earns around SGD 3,400 per month. Kenji wants to resign because he's stuck, he doesn't have anything important to do every day.
Kenji's vent on Facebook was immediately responded to by various netizens. There are those who feel the same way as him, some are suggesting to look for a challenging job.
There are also those who say that they are not grateful to have free time, while others work but have no time to eat or sleep at all.
