iPhone SE 2022 has been officially sold in the market. The price is the same as the cheapest iPhone 11 variant. Where is it?
Actually these two phones come from two different classes. The iPhone SE is Apple's cheapest phone, while the iPhone 11 comes from the flagship class, but is the cheapest variant. And keep in mind, the iPhone 11 is almost three years old, while the iPhone SE is a 2022 phone.
Both are very different phones. iPhone SE 2022 supports 5G networks and uses Apple's latest system on a chip (SoC), A15 Bionic. While the iPhone 11 only supports 4G and uses the older A13 Bionic SoC.
But in terms of appearance, the iPhone 11 is much more modern. Relying on Face ID for biometric security, bigger screen with thinner bezels. On the other hand, the iPhone SE 2022 looks old school. Still relying on Touch ID, the screen is smaller and the bezels are thick at the top and bottom.
iPhone SE 2022 may be the right choice for users who are looking for a cellphone with small dimensions and more comfortable grip. The sloping price with performance that should be the same as the iPhone 13 series should also be the main attraction.
Oh yes, some features that depend on the A15 Bionic are also available on the iPhone SE. For example, Smart HDR 4, Photographic Styles, to Deep Fusion which are claimed to use photo processing per pixel which produces sharper photos, better textures, and so on.
This update makes the iPhone SE supposed to produce better photos than the iPhone 11. But on the other hand, the iPhone 11 has two cameras, and one of them is an ultrawide camera and also supports Night Mode which is not on the iPhone SE 2022.
Then the advantages (and also disadvantages) of the iPhone 11 are on the side of the screen. Even though it has the same pixel density and panel type as the iPhone SE 2022, the screen size of the iPhone 11 is much larger which makes it more comfortable to watch. But on the other hand, the body size has become much larger.
So in conclusion, which one is better? Both have advantages and disadvantages. iPhone SE 2022 may be more suitable for users looking for a long-term phone as it sports the newer A15 Bionic SoC and supports 5G networks.
While the iPhone 11 is two generations behind and does not support 5G. Maybe for now, the A13 Bionic is still more than enough for everyday use, even for gaming. But for the next few years, maybe its performance will be stale for heavy use.
Which do you prefer, iPhone SE 2022 or iPhone 11?
