Samsung's OLED panels are among the best on the market. Many will recognize it as AMOLED and it is used by many device manufacturers. For screens used on devices with foldable screens, it also has an OLED option. But the cost is higher and makes the production of such devices not so widespread.
TheElec now reports that Samsung has started developing affordable flexible OLEDs. It is also thinner and can be used on almost frameless screen designs. The price is also 90% cheaper than other flexible OLED panels.
This is because Samsung will use the method of OCR (Optical Clear Resin) which is a type of transparent liquid adhesive compared to OCA (Optical Clear Adhesive) which is a transparent adhesive tape to combine components. This method will be implemented in factories in Vietnam and the use of this OCR method will also save time.
This OCR method is to use an inkjet machine that will be supplied by STI and Samsung has started booking for this machine. In a factory in South Korea. Samsung has already started using this method.
In the future we will be able to see more devices using this screen panel at a more affordable price.
