After serving for 14 years, Sheryl Sandberg resigned her position as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Meta. The announcement was made by Sandberg himself through his official Facebook account earlier this morning. His duties were taken over by Javier Olivan who previously held the position of Chief Growth Officer (CGO) at Meta starting next fall.

Despite resigning as CFO of Meta, Sandberg will still serve on the company’s board of directors. After resigning, Sandberg will focus on the charities he leads. Prior to serving at Meta he was head of global operations and sales at Google and also chief of staff of the U.S. Treasury Department under the administration of President Bill Clinton.
