The Google Tensor Chip For Pixel 7 Is A 4nm Type Built By Samsung

The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are Google’s first smartphones to use their own processing chips. This chip is an Exynos -based chip from Samsung that uses the specifications for a 7nm chip but is reworked to 5nm to be more efficient.

For the upcoming Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, it is expected to come with a new generation Google Tensor processing chip. This new chip will help for artificial intelligence features focusing on image, video, security and voice recognition.

According to a report from DDaily.co.kr, the new Tensor chip is said to be still being built by Samsung. The chip is said to use a 4nm build instead of 5nm. There are no main specifications, other than it is said to use PLP technology, namely panel level package. This PLP is a technique to ensure chips are produced with better quality and reduced costs.

The Tensor chip on the Pixel 6 uses a dual Cortex-X1 CPU with ARM A76 that Samsung originally produced for the 7nm Exynos chip, but was reworked to 5nm. The next generation of Tensior chips is also expected to have better performance capabilities with more efficient power consumption.

Together we look forward to more details on this chip.
