IDC now shares the five most popular smartphone brands in Malaysia for the first quarter of 2022, which is led by Samsung in Malaysia.
Samsung has a market share of around 33.9% according to IDC, well ahead of its closest rival Xiaomi in second place with a market share of 24.3%.
OPPO is third with 12.9%, Vivo is fifth with 11.7%, and Realme has a stake of 7.8%.
Other brands have an overall stake of 9.3%.
According to IDC as well, around 2.3 million smartphones have entered the local market in the first quarter of 2022, showing a slight decrease compared to the same period last year which amounted to 3.2 million smartphones.
