As smartphone penetration continues to increase in the market, access to applications also increases. Of the millions of applications made by developers, which ones are mostly used by +62 netizens today?
Research results published recently. WhatsApp is a messaging application that is widely used by the public.
Nearly 98.07% of respondents surveyed use WhatsApp, rival Facebook Messenger which is used by 47.12%. WhatsApp is even widely used for online meeting activities rather than Zoom.
When it comes to surfing the internet, the majority of respondents use Chrome. Only 4.95% use UC Browser.
In terms of social media, Facebook and YouTube are applications that are widely accessed by them. Respectively accessed by 68.36% and 63.02% of all people surveyed .
Despite being the most used video streaming application, only 11.10% of respondents use Netflix. WeTV is the second most frequently accessed application by 7.84% of respondents.
While the app was listening to music, netizens chose YouTube Music and Google Play Music. Surprisingly Sporify is not on the list.
Likewise Shopee and Lazada, in the survey results for the online store category. Shopee is used by 55.08% of surveyed netizens, while Lazada is in second place with 33.7%.
Grab is almost equal to being used by respondents as an online transportation service. Grab was used by 36.32% of the people questioned.
Many of the people surveyed have not yet fully embraced digital payments using e-wallet. Just look at Grabypay, only 20.68% of people use it. In second place is Shopee Pay with a percentage of 16.61%.
For information, in conducting this survey, we used a probability sampling technique with multistage random sampling.
Regarding quality control, it is done randomly on 30% of the total sample. The number of samples surveyed is 7,568 respondents. This survey has a margin of error of +-1.13% with a 95% confidence level.
