WhatsApp as we all know, offers unlimited quotas when we do backups via Google Drive. Any backups performed will not use the Google Drive quota we have.
But on the WhatsApp app, the size of storage used will be displayed giving an indication it may stop later.
Recently, WhatsApp was seen testing the ability to export backup files done on Google Drive directly via an Android app. These backup files include conversation history, images, videos and more.
With this capability, it allows users to save backup files elsewhere and can reuse them for manual recovery. For now it is still uncertain when this feature will be distributed to all users or is it just a mere test.
