Netizens' opinions were conveyed in the post of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg when announcing the presence of the disappearing messages feature on his Facebook account. Whereas the purpose of this feature is to make it easier for users to automatically delete messages that do not need to be stored.
"We launched a new disappearing messages option on WhatsApp today so you'll be able to make all new messages disappear by default after 24 hours, 7 days or 90 days," Zuckerberg wrote on Facebook at the time.

How to use disappearing messages on WhatsApp
On WhatsApp, you can send messages that will disappear automatically by turning on the disappearing messages feature or temporary messages. You can choose the option of temporary messages that will disappear after 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days.
Once enabled, new messages sent in chat will disappear after the selected duration. Here are the steps
Activate the disappearing messages feature
In individual chats, both you and your interlocutor can activate the temporary message feature. Once enabled, new messages sent in chat will disappear after the selected duration.
Open WhatsApp chat.
Click the contact name.
Click Temporary message. If prompted, click Continue.
Choose 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days.
Disabling disappearing messages
Both you and your interlocutor can disable the message feature temporarily at any time. Once disabled, new messages sent in chat will no longer be lost.
