WhatsApp is reportedly preparing a number of new features. One of them will make you happy because its users are eagerly waiting for its presence, what is it?
According to a WABetaInfo report, WhatsApp is working on three new features. All of them are being tested in the beta version of the WA application.
It's just that both of these features are still under development, and it may take a while before users can access them.
1. Hiding Online Status
With this feature, users will be able to choose who can see you while online on WhatsApp. This ability is eagerly awaited by users who want to hide Whatsapp online status.
According to the screenshot above, WhatsApp included a new option called "Last Seen and Online" in Privacy Settings > Last Seen. You can choose between "same as last seen" or "everyone" in this section to control who can see you once you're online.
2. Message Filter
WhatsApp is also bringing to some beta testers the ability to filter chats that have not been read yet. With this feature, people can filter their chats so that only new, unread messages appear.
As can be seen in the screenshot above, users can use chat filters to search for chats and messages easily. It lets users see a list of all their unread chats.
Last month, this feature was also added to the beta version of WhatsApp for iOS. Some beta testers are getting this feature today, and it will probably be released to more people in the coming weeks.
3. Avatars
WhatsApp is allegedly working on avatars, a new way to be yourself on WhatsApp. Users are allowed to use Avatar when making video calls, and stickers.
In the screenshot below, you can see that there is a new section having a header image at the top. Since WhatsApp and Facebook are both made by the same company, it looks like the avatars on WhatsApp are taken from Facebook.
You can also change your avatar so that it can be used as a sticker that can be shared with your contacts.
