Amazon, known as a trading site, now announces they are developing a vaccine for cancer, and is working with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. In fact, they have even received confirmation from authorities in the United States to begin clinical trials.
Amazon is seen looking for around 20 participants to participate in this clinical trial, and is more targeting to treat breast cancer as well as melanoma.
Amazon already has expertise in terms of scientific as well as machine learning in treating and developing vaccines or treatments that are personalized according to the patient and also the type of cancer.
For now, it is still in its early stages, and it is not yet known when we will see the results of this treatment trial. The whole process is expected to take several years.
In any case, it is quite interesting to see technology companies also venturing into the arena of health and treating diseases. Amazon itself is now focusing on that arena, including through the provision of online pharmacies and several other healthcare services.
