The ASUS Zenfone 9 finally launched today as a compact Android device that is now arguably an endangered species. It is equipped with a 5.9″ 120Hz screen, paired with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, 16GB LPDDR5 memory, up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4300 mAh battery that supports 30W charging.
More interesting is that it is equipped with only two cameras, but one of them uses a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor complete with a 6-axis gimbal stabilization system and another 12MP ultra-wide angle lens. Video recording capability is up to 8K 24p. On the front there is a 12MP selfie camera placed in a camera hole.
The device also still has a 3.5mm audio jack and stereo speakers. There is support for DIRAC and Qualcomm aptX Lossless audio for a good audio experience. IP68 waterproof capability is also not missing from this compact flagship device.
The power button on the right side is equipped with a fingerprint scanner with the Zen Touch system that allows the screen to be scrolled using the surface of the power button. It must be said that the Zenfone 9 package is very attractive with interesting features in a compact package. The device will be sold at a starting price of €799 (~RM3615) for the 8/128GB model in Starry Blue, Moonlight White, Midnight Black and Sunset Red colors.
