CEO Honor - The Use Of Camera Brands On Smartphones Is A Gimmick

Xiaomi is now with Leica, Oppo with Hasselblad and Sony with Carl Zeiss. Smartphones with lenses from leading photography companies are nothing new but have been around since the days of Nokia is still a big name in the phone world. But according to Honor CEO George Zhao, co -branding camera manufacturers on smartphones is a gimmick,

In an interview with MyDrivers site, Zhao said the short -term collaboration between device manufacturers and camera brands was just a gimmick that should be avoided for the sake of consumers.

After moving on its own, Honor produced devices like the Magic4 Pro that focused on photographic capabilities but did not use the camera manufacturer’s technology. Huawei, after ending a five -year partnership with Leica, is now using XMAGE technology developed by themselves.

Speaking of Huawei, their smart device business CEO Richard Yu also said their company would have dominated the market if trade barriers hadn’t occurred three years ago.
