What is the value of your data. Based on what happened to the data belonging to 22.5 million Malaysians who were hacked during the day, the value is around $ 10 thousand only. Now the data allegedly belonging to 1 billion Chinese who were hacked is sold on the black market for only 10 BTC (~ RM892,000).
The hacker using the name ChinaDan claimed the data was obtained after the Shanghai Police database was successfully accessed by him. The total size of the data is 22 TB containing real names, addresses, identity card numbers, phone numbers and billions of criminal records. According to him, the data was hacked from the AliBaba Cloud cloud storage.
This very serious vulnerability is certainly worrying because China has a population of 1.4 billion and over 70% of personal data is now sold at a very low price - $ 0.000892 per head.
Several hacking cases in China have previously managed to expose the existence of Uighur detention camps complete with detention records, photographs of arrests and thousands of video evidence of atrocities against this ethnic minority despite being denied by Beijing.
