Yesterday we reported that the government of Saudi Arabia will build the world's largest building named The Mirror Line. The report was not accurate and the project was finally officially announced as The Line. It is located in the city of NEOM in Tabuk district, Northwest Saudi Arabia.
The scale of the project is actually larger as it consists of two towers 170 kilometers long, 500 meters high, 200 meters wide and will house 9 million people. The Line will not have roads or any cars.
Instead each community is designed to be able to access daily needs with a 5-minute walk. Traveling from one end of The Line to the other will only take 20 minutes using the high-speed subway system.
Fully sustainable energy sources will be used with the impact on the surrounding area will be reduced because the buildings are built in storeys unlike conventional city designs. As well as housing public parks, the Line's workplaces, agricultural areas and commercial centers are all built into a structure that will be the largest in the world if completed.
