The battle between Twitter and Elon Musk is really hot. Twitter did not accept that the world's richest man wanted to postpone his trial in a Delaware court.
As reported, Twitter wants the trial to be held immediately and Elon Musk's legal team asks the court to reject the request. Elon Musk's team wanted more time to prepare. In fact, according to them, the trial should only be held next year.
Meanwhile, Twitter asked for a hearing to be held in September. Lawyers for Elon Musk said Twitter's request for a speedy trial was their tactic after months of confusing information.
In response to this, as quoted by us from CNBC, Tuesday (19/7/2022), Twitter said that the postponement of the trial would only harm Twitter and Elon Musk would only continue to boast on Twitter's own platform.
"This very public dispute is damaging Twitter in the course of every day Elon Musk commits misconduct. Musk is multiplying this damage by using Twitter's own platform as a loudspeaker to undermine Twitter," said a Twitter attorney.
"Millions of Twitter shares are traded daily under the shadow of doubt created by Elon Musk. Never has a public company of this magnitude had to endure such uncertainty," they added.
As is known, Elon Musk canceled the purchase of Twitter because they considered them to be dishonest about the number of fake accounts that spread on his site which was claimed to be only about 5%.
Twitter's lawsuit was filed in the Delaware Court of Chancery on Tuesday (12/7) local time. Twitter's team of attorneys said they were trying to prevent Elon Musk from breaching the agreement, and to force the merger to complete after meeting several unresolved conditions.
