A few years ago, the Indonesian government through their Ministry of Communications and Informatics (Kominfo) introduced a digital service operator company registration platform called Private Scope Electronic System (PSE) which requires all digital and online service companies from within and outside the country to allowed to operate in that country.
Most recently, Communications Minister Johnny G. Plate has said that online and digital service companies have until July 20 to register their services on the PSE platform before it will be barred from access in the country starting July 21.
According to a CNN Indonesia report, all digital companies that have users in the country, whether local or international, are required to register their services to ensure access to their platforms is not blocked.

The digital companies that need to register for this PSE permit are digital companies that offer the purchase and sale of goods or services, companies that process financial information, companies that store data on sales and purchases and the financial sector and also companies. which offers in -app purchases.
Currently, companies such as Spotify, Gojek, Tokopedia, Traveloka, TikTok, DailyMotion and Linktree are already registered on the PSE platform, while Google, Meta, Twitter, Netflix, PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends are not yet registered.
They still have about 2-3 more days to get this PSE permit, which the Minister of Information Technology says that registration on the platform is quite easy and fast enough to do.
If these companies are not registered by July 20, all Indonesians on average will not be able to access platforms such as Google, YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter and so on on July 21.
