iPad With OLED Panel Is Said To Come With A Thinner And Lighter Design

Apple will reportedly come up with an iPad that uses an OLED screen panel. Initially, the iPad was planned to launch in 2022. But planning was canceled, and was postponed to 2024. To this day, Apple still has no tablets that use OLED screens. The most premium is the iPad Pro M1 with a mini-LED screen.

Recently, ETNews reported that the iPad with this OLED screen has entered the prototype phase. This version of the iPad will come with a new thinner design and will be a lighter iPad. This is because, Apple is said to use OLED panels with dry etching process.

This dry etching OLED panel process removes parts on the film transistors that are not needed allowing the components to be thinner and also making them lighter. This allows Apple to use a screen design with a thin bezel. The OLED panel for the iPad is said to be supplied by Samsung and LG.
