Low Income, Twitter Blames Elon Musk

Twitter believes it would have made more revenue during Q2 2022 had Elon Musk not bothered.

Twitter's revenue during Q2 2022 fell to $1.18 billion from $1.19 billion a year earlier. The decline, according to Twitter, came about because of being bullied by Elon Musk, who attempted to acquire Twitter and then cancel it unilaterally.

However, Twitter is not only blaming the Musk factor, but also the problems in the advertising industry, as well as the overall economic environment. But Musk is still cited as the main cause of the decline, as quoted by us from The Verge, Sunday (24/7/2022)

As is known, Elon Musk canceled the purchase of Twitter because they considered them to be dishonest about the number of fake accounts that spread on his site which was claimed to be only about 5%.

Twitter later sued Musk and forced him to complete the $44 billion acquisition. Twitter even asked the judge to speed up the trial schedule, which is to start in September for four days.

But Musk wants to delay until February 2023 by 10 days the trial because he felt unfair the trial started too soon.

In a preliminary hearing on the Delaware Court of Chancery, judge Kathaleen McCormick sided with Twitter and ruled that the trial would begin in October 2022. But the trial would last five days, slightly longer than Twitter requested.

Twitter argues that they will continue to be harmed if the dispute with Musk continues, so the company with the bird logo wants the trial to begin as soon as possible. Twitter also said Musk's request to postpone the trial to February next year was aimed at making the situation more complicated.

Musk's team of lawyers argue that they need more time to verify Twitter's claim that the number of fake accounts and bots on its platform is less than 5% of its monthly active users.

Musk's team says this data is important for understanding Twitter's ad business. Previously, Twitter had provided its internal data which contained information about all tweets ever sent, the device used to send the tweets, and other information about the user's account.
