Consumers are now expected to be able to enjoy 5G services through major telcos in stages, by September 2022.
This was shared by the Minister of Communications and Multimedia recently. Various telcos have now finally agreed to the DNB model, and are given a period of about two months in carrying out various assessments.
Previously, on the given deadline of 30 June 2022, the six telcos had agreed to acquire a stake in DNB. They will be given a period of one week until July 8 for the signing process and so on.
In line with all this, the government is now targeting consumers to be able to enjoy 5G services through their main lines in stages by September 2022.
Currently, the 5G network has covered 25% of the populated areas in Malaysia. But, only one telecommunication company offers it, namely Yes.
