There are various cellular plans in Malaysia with different data quotas. As a user, the number of data plans is quite dizzying, but there are still people who always change telecommunications companies to get the cheapest plan.
According to a report from Cable.co.uk, cellular data plans in Malaysia are the 27th cheapest in the world and the 3rd cheapest in the Southeast Asian region. In Malaysia, the average cost for 1GB of data is RM2, with the lowest cost is RM 0.49 and the most expensive is RM24.
The country with the cheapest cellular data plan is Israel with a cost of $0.04/GB followed by Italy ($0.12/GB), San Marino ($0.14/GB), Fiji ($0.15/GB), India ($0.17/GB). The countries with the most expensive cellular data plans are St Helena ($41/GB), Falklands Islands ($38.45/GB), São Tomé and PrÃncipe ($29.49/GB), Tokelau ($17.88/GB) and Yemen ($16.48).
In the Southeast Asia region, the countries with the cheapest cellular data plans are Thailand ($0.38/GB), Cambodia ($0.42/GB), Malaysia ($0.45/GB), Indonesia ($0.46/GB) and the Philippines ($0.52/GB).
