MIMOS Showcases RE-EV Electric Motorcycle-Developed Together With Modenas And UniMAP

MIMOS is now showcasing one of their latest projects developed with Modenas and also Universiti Malaysia Perlis, which is an electric motorcycle called RE-EV.

This RE-EV (Range Extended Electric Vehicle) has been developed for two years, where it is also integrated with an internal combustion engine genset, thus providing additional charging on the battery for long-distance travel purposes. The RE-EV is also said to use a simpler system, and does not require a drive chain to rotate the wheels.

For now, it is in the development stage, and it is not yet known when it will be commercialized. Given Modenas ’involvement, it’s not impossible we’ll see it commercialized in a few years. This development has also made the electric vehicle industry in Malaysia continue to be vibrant - especially the two -wheeled ones.
