Yesterday, the perigee phenomenon occurred, where the distance between the Moon and the Earth was at the closest position. In parallel, the Malaysian Space Agency (MYSA) also recorded the phenomenon.
Today, MYSA shared a picture of Super Full Moon that was successfully recorded on 13 Julaii 2022, 11.35 pm at the Langkawi National Observatory.
However, due to unfavorable weather, the peak of the "Super Full Moon" phenomenon at 2.37 am could not be recorded.
For information, the Moon orbits the Earth in an elliptical orbit. This also makes the distance between the Moon and the Earth constantly changing from day to day. According to what has been recorded so far, the farthest average distance between the Moon and the Earth is 405,504km and is known as the apogee. The closest average distance is around 363,396km known as perigee.
For you, did you take any “Super Full Moon” pictures yesterday?
