Netflix has confirmed it will introduce plans with advertising support as early as 2023, in some markets. In parallel, Netflix stated that not all content catalogs of TV series and movies will be offered under this free platform.
This may be expected by many, especially local users. The same method is also implemented by service providers such as Viu, iQiyi and several others in Malaysia.
Users can access some content for free, but the latest and exclusive content requires a paid subscription. Perhaps we see the same model implemented by Netflix on their platform – not to mention that various companies are now looking to the Asian region for a more user-friendly business model.
