So far, China has the title as the country with the most population in the world. But the United Nations says China's position will be shifted in 2023. No longer held by China, India will be the country with the most population in 2023.
The United Nations (UN) provides the latest calculation of the world's population. Mentioned that, the inhabitants of the earth will reach 8 billion on 15 November.
In the same report, the United Nations said China's position would be shifted in 2023. In which the population of India, will surpass China's in 2023.
"The year 2023 is when India is likely to overtake China as the most populous country in the world," the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs said Monday.

This is not without reason. In 2021 alone, India's population is only narrowly behind China's, 1.412 billion versus 1.426 billion. This figure is believed to be increasing until 2050.
"This is a reminder of our shared responsibility to care for our planet and a moment to reflect on where we are still failing to fulfill our commitments to one another," Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said.
"This is an opportunity to celebrate our diversity, recognize our shared humanity, and admire the advances in health that have extended life spans and dramatically reduced maternal and child mortality," he added.
