Apple, Samsung, and Google do dominate the modern smartphone market. But there are a number of iconic veteran phone manufacturers that hold a special place in the hearts of many.
Companies like Nokia and Motorola were once the top choice for people looking for the best new phones on the market. Now, the former giant is even better known for his cheap cell phones. After Nokia is trying to "rise from the grave" with its latest phone, HTC is also looking for a way to make a comeback and take over certain market share.
Quoted from Express.co.uk, earlier this month, HTC revealed its newest handset, the HTC 22 Desire Pro, which was again showcased at MWC, Barcelona, Spain 2022 earlier this year. Coming with a tag of £399 (around Rp. 7.1 million), this new HTC phone will compete with handsets like the Google Pixel 6a and Samsung Galaxy A53.
As expected from a mid-range phone, HTC's latest handset will be able to connect to 5G networks thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chip.
Another specification of the phone is that it has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The battery is 4,520mAh which is claimed to last all day on a single charge. The HTC Desire 22 Pro battery will also be capable of wireless charging and have fast charging and reverse charging support.

HTC's first phone since 2021 comes with Android 12 which is equipped with a 6.6-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The HTC Desire 22 Pro is also IP67 certified which protects it from water and dust.
One feature that will help the HTC Desire 22 Pro stand out from its contemporaries is that it's built to work with HTC VIVE Flow virtual reality (VR) glasses.
Users can stream movies and boxsets from their HTC phones to the VIVE Flow glasses (priced at £499), providing a cinema-like experience when users are just sitting at home or in bed.
"The HTC Desire 22 pro delivers a fantastic feature pack from a stunning display to a powerful array of cameras, making it versatile for any use. The HTC Desire 22 pro also offers a new immersive experience as the perfect partner for VIVE Flow," said HTC's Head of Global Product. Shen Ye.
HTC is opening pre-orders for the HTC Desire 22 Pro. The official release date is August 1, 2022. HTC provides various benefits for those who pre-order, ranging from discounts on VIVE Flow glasses, HTC True Wireless Earbuds, and HTC Desire 22 Pro cases.
HTC in its heyday, was one of the most recognizable brands. HTC Dream aka HTC G1 or T-Mobile G1 which was released in 2008 is the world's first Android phone.
Despite its success in the early days of Android's popularity, increased competition and a series of annual losses caused HTC to diversify its products beyond mobile phones, such as the VIVE VR headset range for PCs.
In 2018, most of HTC's smartphone division was acquired by Google, and former HTC staff worked for Google's first-party handset business unit from the Pixel 3a series onwards.
