The picture-in-picture (PiP) feature allows YouTube videos to continue playing in a small window on Android devices. On iOS and iPadOS devices, this feature has been tested before being pulled. Today YouTube announced the PiP feature is finally being given to iPhone and iPad users who are Premium customers.
They can watch videos in a small window starting today globally. For non -Premium customers in the United States, only music videos can be played in PiP mode. Support for other videos is not provided at this time. Today finally a feature that has long been supported on Android is finally arriving in Apple’s ecosystem.
To enable this feature, Premium customers simply need to go to Settings> General> Picture-in-picture and activate it today.
