Prime Video has been offering video streaming services since 2014 and since 2016 in Malaysia. Although it was among the earliest streaming platforms, Prime Video rarely made changes to its somewhat outdated interface. Today they finally announced a new interface on the smart television app.
At first glance it is very similar to the interface used on Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar. The main menu is placed on the left side with access to original content, video purchase stores, live broadcasts, free TV and content already purchased by customers. There’s also a chart of the 10 hottest content once again borrowed from Netflix.
Content thumbnails are also now larger with short video previews giving an idea of what to watch. The new interface is given to Fire TV users first in the United States with it to be offered to other platforms as well as global users in stages.
