Popular analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is now targeting Qualcomm to be the only supplier of processing chips for Samsung’s next series of smartphones, the Galaxy S23.
It is said to be an improvement over just 70% for the previous Galaxy S22 series. For the record, Samsung previously marketed devices with Exynos chips for the Malaysian market, but this year it was powered entirely with Snapdragon chips.
Samsung is said not to be using Exynos as it cannot compete with the Snapdragon chip in all aspects - including processing as well as energy consumption.
This will also allow Qualcomm to have a stronger stake in the flagship Android phone market in 2023.

1. Qualcomm will likely be the sole processor supplier for Samsung Galaxy S23 (vs. 70% shipment proportion for S22) thanks to the next flagship 5G chip SM8550 made by TSMC 4nm.
